Cheap Amsterdam from Miami: an all-in getaway from ~$1,108
Amsterdam packs a lot into a small, walkable center, which makes it kind for a tight budget. From Miami you are only 10h56 by plane away, close enough for a long weekend without burning a day in transit.
The city rewards travellers who skip the tourist traps and lean into the free stuff: strolling the canal belt, cycling along the Amstel, picnicking in Vondelpark. A few smart choices on where to sleep and eat go a long way here.

Doing Amsterdam on a budget
The best of Amsterdam is free or cheap: the canal ring (a UNESCO site), the Jordaan lanes, and Vondelpark cost nothing to enjoy. Save your euros for one or two paid highlights like the Van Gogh Museum or the Anne Frank House, and book those online in advance since they sell out. For meals, street stalls and market food at the Albert Cuyp Market beat sit-down restaurants, and tap water is safe and free everywhere.
Getting around and where to stay
Central Amsterdam is compact, so you can cover most of it on foot, and renting a bike is the local way to move faster for little money. Trams, buses and the metro all run on the OV-chipkaart or contactless card if the weather turns. To keep lodging costs down, look at neighbourhoods just outside the ring like De Pijp, Oost or Amsterdam-Noord (a short free ferry across the IJ), which are cheaper than the center but still well connected.
When to visit
Spring, roughly April to May, is a favourite for the milder weather and the tulip season, when the nearby Keukenhof gardens open and the city parks bloom. Summer brings the longest days but also the biggest crowds and higher room prices, so late spring and early autumn tend to offer the better value. Winter is quiet and cold, though it can be the cheapest time to find a bed if you do not mind grey skies.
